Fall

A small, fluttering sound
Brown, red and yellow concert
Rustling and twisting, floating and clustering
All to be swept away at the end of a day.

Smiling and glowing, faint and fluttering
Golden, stringy and ever so fun to squish
The smell of seeds roasting, tender and crunchy.
Grinning faces left outside, a welcoming image.

Browned and tender, waiting for a bite
Soft and light, a satisfying delight.
Laughter and giggle, treats and remembrance
Friendship and fun, and a match on the telly.

Smells and tasting, a treat for the senses.
Imagining and creating, an experience for the mind.
Dreaming and exploring, melting and pulling,
Laughs and dancing, weeping and romancing.

Drams of books and work, of candy and ghosts,
Of turkey and filling, of friendship and thanks.

Fall, unbroken, un ending
Leaves blowing in the wind
Of Jack-o- lanterns and fairy tales
Things ever and again.
